Define item-to-parcel mapping
One order line may span several parcels, while one parcel may contain several items. OTTO distinguishes one item shipped in multiple parcels from separate shipments for different items. Record the appropriate mapping before packing.
Document each parcel separately
Keep a parcel reference with SKU, partial quantity and expected parcel count. Record tracking, carrier and handover time and verify feedback to the sales channel. A scan for parcel 1 does not confirm arrival of parcel 2.
Investigate missing parts against the right parcel
For a reported shortage, compare expected contents and parcel status first. Check packing evidence, handover and delivery for the affected parcel. Approve replacements or other action separately and link them to the original order.
