Create an approved mapping
Record the SKU, existing and new identifiers, and distinguishing features for each item. Colour, size, model, accessories or a product photo can help identify similar variants. Record the file version and its approval before processing goods.
Plan labels and packaging separately
A new label does not repair packaging damage. State whether only identification changes or whether bags, retail packaging or shipping cartons also need work. Agree materials, handling scope and treatment of existing labels separately.
Agree sample approval and final checks
For easily confused items, a sample job can clarify the instructions. Agree evidence of item identity, label position and readability, and name the person approving the sample. Scans, photos and other checks depend on the confirmed job; record exception items separately.
Plan step by step
- Link SKU, variant, existing identification and new label in an approved list.
- Distinguish similar variants with clear features; keep unidentified items separate.
- Approve packaging changes, materials and additional work separately.
- Agree sample approval and check scope before processing the batch.
- Reconcile processed quantities, checked quantities and exceptions separately.
