Prepare stock and warehouse workflows for peak demand

Connect promotion plans with inbound stock, packaging and returns handling. A monthly average does not describe the busiest dispatch day.

Warehouse operations in Hagen

Plan step by step

  1. Share promotion dates, destinations and featured SKUs. Separate normal volume, expected daily demand and a higher scenario; regularly compare forecasts with actual orders.
  2. Plan replenishment backwards from the confirmed receiving date. Include supplier lead time, transport, unloading, counting and possible relabelling rather than relying only on the departure date.
  3. Review orders per day, items per order and special packaging together. Confirm warehouse capacity and handling scope before committing to promotion volumes.
  4. Agree order cutoff, carrier handover and customer communication separately. Account for service and destination; general planning dates do not establish a delivery guarantee.
  5. Plan packaging replenishment, exceptions and post-promotion returns. Name owners and the trigger for revising capacity or the forecast.
  6. Compare forecast and actual orders for the same period. When demand changes, update the warehouse on daily volumes, product mix and promotion duration, then obtain a revised capacity confirmation.

Include in the shared peak brief

  • Which receiving dates and daily volumes are confirmed, and which are still forecasts?
  • When should shortages of packaging, staff or stock be escalated?
  • Who updates the plan when a promotion is extended or delivery dates change?
